General Considerations on Histo-Pathological Examinations at Our Department Durning Last 28 Months

Abstract
178 cases of biopsy which were taken from various structures in the field of Otolaryngology and which were confirmed pathologycally during the past 2 years and 4 months in our department were analysed.
The distribution of lesions according: to the pathological classification are as follows;
1. Malignant tumors 71 cases (39.8 %) -Carcinoma Sq. cell ca 45
Adenocarcinoma 3
Basal cell carcinoma 3
Unclassified 3
-Malignant lymphoma 4
Reticulum cell sarcoma 7
Sarcoma Eibrosarcona 3

2. Inflammation- 65 cases (36.5¢¥%) -Tuberculosis 28
Chronic inflammation 35
Rhinoscleroma 2

3. Benign tumors- 42 cases (23.5%) -Polyp 21
Papilloma 10

The incidence in sex male has 2.7 times offemale in malignant tumor particularly 4.1 in squamous cell carcinoma in benign tumors; male has- 1.3, times of female.
In the age distribution, there are 54 cases (76%) between the ages from 41 to 70 in malignant tumors, and 31 cases (73 %) between the ages from 21 to 50 in benign tumors.
Although there were many cases of polyp in the nose and many cases of polyp papilloma and singers nodule in larynx, very few biopsies were done for pathological diagnosis.
Now the author emphasizes to have pathological confirmance of any kind in suspected chronic lesionsso that we can diagnose the malignancy as easly as possible and save the human life by the proper early treatment.
